Pizza Fritta

BY PEPPE GUIDA - A classic dish that became a favourite for Italians during hard times. Over time it has evolved from fried dough made from water and flour to a myriad of variations. Enjoy Peppe Guida’s family recipe, made with biological tomatoes and parmigiano.

STEPS

  • Preheat the oven to 180 C. Next, boil water in a pot. Reduce to low heat once boiled and place the tomato sauce inside (in the packaging).
  • Remove the pizza dough from the bag and place it on a baking tray (with baking paper) in the oven once it is preheated. Bake it for 6-7 minutes at 180 C. One minute prior to the end of the cooking time, place a flat serving plate in the oven.
  • Now it’s time to remove the tomato sauce from the hot water.
  • Take the pizza dough and the plate out of the oven and place the pizza dough in the centre of the plate. Gently spoon the tomato sauce on the crispy pizza dough and sprinkle with parmigiano.
  • Garnish with basil leaves.
  • COMPONENTS:

    Pizza dough, tomato sauce, parmigiano, basil leaves.

    NECESSARY EQUIPMENT:

    Teaspoon, scissors, kitchen tweezers, oven, pot (for boiled water), baking tray, baking paper.

    PLATE SUGGESTION:

    Large flat plate.

    PREPARATION TIME:

    10 minutes.

    OVEN TEMPERATURE:

    180°C
