Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina

BY PEPPE GUIDA - A simple and greatly traditional dish, often homemade by Neapolitan grandmothers that in time has become a symbol of “Made in Italy” all around the world. The assembly of the various ingredients, like potatoes, tomatoes, mozzarella and basil make it an incredibly popular and modern dish to this day.

How to prepare

STEPS

  • Heat the yellow tomato sauce in a pan over medium heat and add the gnocchi. Mix it with the yellow tomato sauce, until hot. Add the mozzarella and stir until melted.
  • Plate the gnocchi into an oven-proof bowl, sprinkle parmigiano on top and bake in the preheated oven for 6-7 minutes at 180 C.
  • Take the hot bowl out of the oven and garnish it with basil leaves.
  • COMPONENTS:

    Gnocchi, parmigiano, yellow tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil leaves.

    NECESSARY EQUIPMENT:

    Pan (for tomato sauce), kitchen tweezers, spoon, ovenproof bowl/plate, oven (preheated to 180 C).

    PLATE SUGGESTION:

    Large plate or bowl.

    PREPARATION TIME:

    15 minutes.

    OVEN TEMPERATURE:

    180°C
